Online Casino News: Seizure of Funds

According to Denmark, playing poker at
the online casinos is legal. However, if
this is the case, then why do they keep
prosecuting individuals who are playing
online poker? There are numerous
instances in the country of them going
after people who play poker at the
online casinos yet they still maintain
that there is nothing wrong with it.
However, they have some very strict
guidelines as to how you can play for it
to be legal.
A 35-year-old man was just recently
forced to fork over roughly $28,000 that
he had earned playing poker at an online
casino. The country said that as he had
no other form of an appointment, it was
illegal for him to play at the online
casino. There are laws that state that
you cannot have poker playing be your
only means of making money. They say
that in order to earn money at the
online casinos, you must have some other
form of employment.
There was a similar case a few months
ago, where another man was charged with
a similar offense. His ruling, however,
was overturned. Prosecutors say that
they are deciding on a case-by-case
basis whether or not someone is
considered a professional online casino
gambler or professional poker player. If
they are considered to be a professional
gambler then charges will be brought
against them.
Basically it comes down to the fact that
they don't mind you gambling, as long is
it is not the only thing you are doing
to earn money.
