Online Casino News:
Payments to US Players Seized
by Joanne R Wednesday September 30, 2009
at 7:05 PM
The United States Department of Justice
has seized six more bank accounts
containing funds that belong to their
own citizens. The government says that
they were online casino accounts and
therefore the funds are government
property. The United States Attorney in
Maryland has ordered the forfeiture of
six Wachovia bank accounts that were
operated by Forshay Enterprises. The
company is an online casino gambling
payment processor.
It seems that the government pulled out
all the stops to apprehend these
criminal accounts. They involved US
attorneys in Maryland and New York,
Customs and Immigration, the Louisiana
State Police, as well as the Internal
Revenue Service. This seizure of funds
brings the total number 215 that the
government has taken from its citizens.
Our government has taken to watching for
these online casino payments to be
deposited and then is seizing the funds.
It does seem like a good way to bring in
additional money to the country, so
perhaps that is really What Is behind
This. Many Experts Are Confused As to
How the Government Has the Right to
Seize the Funds from the Online Casinos
Considering There Is Actually Not a Law
That Says That You Cannot Participate in
Online Casino Gambling. Money Sitting in
a Bank Account Is Not Illegal.
The Government Is Taking the Money
before It Is Actually Processed Which
Means the Money Is Not Illegal yet.
Besides the Fact That Money Sitting in
an Account at Wachovia Is Not Breaking
the Law On Behalf Of the Bank or the
Online Casino.
