Korean Gambling Ring

It is illegal to run your own online casino and gambling ring pretty much anywhere in the world. However, in Korea it is especially illegal, and they don’t take kindly to those that break their laws. Their government is quick to crack down on those that break the online casino laws, and those that are caught will pay the price.

This holds true for the latest and largest one of these we have seen in a while. Korean authorities have busted an illegal online casino gambling ring that is actually based out of Manila and the Philippines. They air live internet coverage of the casino in Manila to Korean viewers and earn money for doing so.

They have earned more than 100 billion won while running the illegal online casino and the Seoul Central Prosecutors’ Office said that they had four suspects being held without bail. They are charging them with illegal gambling as they allowed their watchers to place bets on the online casino site in real time.

The authorities released the ringleader’s name as Lee, and said that he had three casino tables and webcasting devices, as well as 30 Filipino dealers. Lee would then broadcast what was going on in the casino while taking bets as they watched the webcast. He would exchange their money into cyber chips, and took 95-800% commissions off of the deals.
