Ireland has outdated laws
restricting gambling
Ireland has laws limiting or
prohibiting gambling and has not
updated these laws since 1956.
This may well leave them on the
dock watching their ship sail
away. There are some very
serious, heavy hitting online
casino and online gambling
companies with their eye on
Ireland, and a few giants
already operating under the
restricted and outdated laws.
But unless things change,
Irelands big chance to draw in
the multitudes of online casino
providers may just slip through
their hands, and Malta and Isle
of Man will continue to welcome
with open arms countless
millions in revenue.
Paddy Power and Boyle Sports
already have their hands in the
mix in Ireland, with other
companies like Tiltware
relocating there in the near
future. The company will be
locating it's corporate
headquarters in Dublin.
Ireland should take heed of the
direction the UK took in regards
to online gambling as it would
open up many local jobs,
reported to be the sentiments of
John McGuire of Rehab Lotteries.
Further endorsement comes from
Breon Corcoran of Paddy Power
who emphasizes that the gambling
industry requires many skilled
persons to fill the need as they
expand into foreign markets, and
that Ireland can fill this need
if they were only to amend the
current laws.
