French could relax views of
Online Bingo
Representatives of the French
government are set to meet with
EU officials regarding the
governments policies concerning
online gambling. While any open
discussions will be viewed as
positive and a step in the right
direction, Online Bingo
operators as well as players
will be on the lookout for other
EU states moving in on the
action, even if the French
government doesn't relax it's
views. As the EU's European
Commission has begun addressing
certain concerns that the French
government's restrictions on
non-French gambling companies
may not be in compliance to the
EU's policies of free trade
between member states and may
overlook out of state
violations.
Per the eGaming Review report,
government representatives from
France are showing some
willingness to relax a little as
long as the policies involve
online sports betting. And in
order to allow online gambling
operators to set offer their
services in France, they must
set up their offices in France.
