Cryptologic reports an
increase in profits
Cryptologic is known for
developing first class online
casinos that have unique casino
games and has become well known
among online gamblers as a
trusted online casino
provider. For the first half of
2007, Cryptologic is reporting
an increase in profits,
although costs for moving the
company to Ireland,
reorganization costs and taxes
totaling more than $4 million
did cause their records to show
a temporary loss.
President and CEO of
Cryptologic, Javaid Aziz is
quoted as saying, "Cryptologic
took
major steps this quarter towards
a return to growth and
profitability - with an
increase in operating revenue,
and a decrease in operating
costs. Since December,
Cryptologic has launched 11 new
customer sites, and we have four
more in the pipeline
- including two for Holland
Casino, and one for World Poker
Tour. With the confidence
of huge global brands, good
growth from our European base
and encouraging progress in
Asia, Cryptologic's outlook
improves every day."
The positive outlook of those in
power at the company will help
greatly on the road to
a major success for Cryptologic.
Online Casinos as a whole
generate approx. $6 billion
in revenue annually. These
numbers have shown a dip due to
the U.S. Anti Gambling Act,
but casino officials are not
giving up. Instead, most online
casinos are looking at
new geographical markets, new
promotions to existing players
and branching out to more
avenues such as skill games,
sportsbetting, poker and bingo.
Those groups previously
not involved in such avenues are
finding the market ripe for new
ventures such as
these.
