Online Casino Foe Causing More
Trouble

Many people within the online casino
industry are wondering why Bill Frist
will just won’t go away. Frist is one of
those legislators that are responsible
for the passage of the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act. However, with
so many now working to get online casino
gambling legalized again just popping
back up is not necessarily a good thing.
Many are concerned as to what his agenda
is this time around, although he seems
to be focused on health care. First he
came out and told a reporter for Time
magazine that he would vote for the
health care package the way that it is
currently written, and then later turned
around and said that he never said such
a thing. Many say that this is
commonplace for the former Senate
Majority Leader who was instrumental in
getting the UIGEA slipped into the port
security act of 2006.
By being instrumental in the online
casino payment ban, he will forever go
down in the hearts and minds of online
casino players as the enemy. Many feel
that the way that the bill was passed
was sneaky and they’re probably right.
After all, the UIGEA was put in as part
of an urgent homeland security issue and
was voted on at midnight on the day that
Congress adjourned for the year. By
linking it to such an important bill it
became difficult for those who wished to
oppose it to do so without looking as
though they were not interested in the
security of the United States.
This has been the beef for many online
casino players for the past three years,
especially with the big push to make
online casino gambling legal again. With
Frist showing up again many are
concerned that he will be pushing to
further his online casino gambling
agenda once again.
