Online Casino News: Online Casino Funds Not Released
by Joanne R Thursday October 29, 2009 at 11:16 PM
Those online casino players who thought
they might be getting their money back
are in for another disappointment.
Online casino poker players have found
that once the government take something
they are not so quick to give it back.
The United States government had given
them the impression that they might be
willing to release the funds that they
had seized from their online casino
accounts however this does not
necessarily seem to be the case.
The US government told all online casino
poker players who had money in accounts
with Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker, and
various other online casino sites to
apply for their winnings. Then he told
them that by applying for those online
casino winnings that it would be
released to them after filling out some
paperwork. Instead, now it looks as
though it could be years before they get
to see any of their money back again.
The government had stepped in and
started seizing the various bank
accounts of those people they felt were
participating in online gambling. They
said it was a matter of national
security and the United States
Department of Justice said that it was
necessary for them to move swiftly in
order to protect their citizens.
However, Account Services, the owner or
distributor of those bank accounts for
the online casino patrons, says that the
money was seized but there were no
warrants involved which makes it an
illegal seizure. Douglas Rennick from
the company is now being charged with
money laundering, bank fraud, and
illegal online casino gambling.
