Online Casino Not Responsible

There has been much talk of an increase in gambling addiction in the United Kingdom, and many have been pointing their fingers at the online casino industry. They say that if the online casino sites were not as convenient for players, then they would not have the high amount of gambling addiction that has been showing up in the country. However, this is not true.

Experts say that online casinos are not responsible for an increase in gambling addiction; they say that it is more due to the plethora of gambling opportunities both online and land based. They say that those that are accusing the online casino industry of creating gambling addiction have an ulterior motive.

It would seem that by pointing their fingers at the online casino industry, many are trying to get it banned or have stricter regulations. If it was responsible for the addiction increase this would make sense. However, many of those calling for the change in online casino policies are actually supporters of the land based casino industry.

The B&M casinos have been losing business to the online casino industry and instead of finding reputable ways of bringing in more business they decided to plant the idea that the online casino industry was responsible hoping to close out the competition.

However, even though the online casino industry may be responsible for some of that addiction, the fact remains that it is not responsible for all of it. Experts say that in an attempt to protect the interests of the land based casinos, they have smeared the online casino industry instead.
