Bluegrass Institute Cries
Censorship
The Bluegrass Group is a
libertarian group that was
designed to promote the ideas of
the nation’s founding fathers.
The group, according to Jim
Walters, their Director of
Policy and Communications, says
the organization favored
"limited government, personal
responsibility, and economic
prosperity. We also conduct
research on policy issues and
are working to market our ideas
and solutions.”
This time around they are crying
censorship in response to
Governor Steve Beshear’s attempt
to take on the online casinos.
Walters says that Beshear’s
attempts to seize the internet
domain names of the online
casinos are an act of
censorship. They say that this
is going to have far reaching
consequences if someone does not
stop him.
They are holding a forum to
discuss the turn of events, and
will be talking about internet
freedom and technological
innovation. They say that if the
state of Kentucky is allowed
this sort of power the rest of
the internet is not safe either.
They take exception to the
attacking of online casinos when
horse racing and lotteries are
still allowed to run online.
This is one of the things that
are hurting the US in their
fight to keep online casinos
illegal. They are not alone in
their concerns. There are other
groups worried about the
ramifications that something
like this could have on the
country and internationally.
