Florida Attorney General Pro
UIGEA
One of the highest officials in
the state of Florida has come
out and publicly written a piece
defining his support for the
Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act and is accusing
some in the industry of fraud.
The article basically said that
online casinos just can't surely
check a players age and that
UIGEA has done a good job of
keeping illicit gamblers from
doing business in the state of
Florida. In his article Ira
McCollum says that the Act has
greatly helped reduce the
'dangers' of convenience
gambling and cut down on
underage players.
He states in his article that
there is not way for online
casinos to ensure that the odds
that they offer their players
are fair or accurate and that
fraud runs wild through all of
the systems. One of the most
eye-popping statements made in
the piece is that Mr. McCollum
states that
many online casinos shut their
doors when players try to claim
their winnings and that is why
there is a new casino up
everyday. All of his words come
despite protests from many
people in the online gambling
industry who state that not once
have they had a report of an
online casino closing its doors
once someone wanted to claim
their cash.
McCollum is a member of the
Baptist faith and the Republican
party as well as having served
in the United States House of
Representatives for 20 years.
