Elimination Blackjack
One year ago, the UIGEA was
passed, making it impossible for
online gambling sites to operate
in the United States. This also
affects some online poker, but
to what extent it is not fully
known yet. The Ultimate
Blackjack Tour is a US based
organization that operates
within our borders, and under
the sweepstakes law, it is able
to conduct business.
The UBT's players are simply
required to mail a postcard to
the company for entry into their
tournaments, in which cash and
prizes up to $100,000 are given
away each month. Players also
can pay a membership fee each
month to be entered
automatically into the
tournaments and gives them a
chance to win a spot on the
televised tournaments.
Membership also gives people a
subscription to their monthly
publication, coupons for Las
Vegas and playing tips and
strategies.
The tournaments are based on
Elimination Blackjack, players
competing and being disqualified
as the game proceeds. The UBT's
founder Russ Hamilton was the
1994 World Series Of Poker
Champion, and he sees
Elimination Blackjack as the
next big thing in gambling. This
is the second season for the
tournament which is televised
nationally. In addition, UBT's
founder publishes the ALL IN
magazine, and owns PlayUBT.com
and ClubUBT.com.
Elimination Blackjack has as
many as 30 players in a game and
the player who has the most in
chips at the end of the game is
the winner. There are forced
eliminations on the 8th, 16th
and 25th hands. There is also a
'Secret Bet' that adds a bit of
excitement as the game
progresses. The process of
elimination makes for a much
more competitive game as players
try to make it to the final
rounds and walk away with large
amounts of cash and the title of
'Champion'.
