World Sports Leagues Looking
for Regulation
The World Sports Leagues are
upset because there has been a
lot of online casino gambling
going on as it relates to the
sports world. They are finding
corruption running rampant in
the sports arena and know that
something has to be done about
it. They want the United States
to start regulating online
casinos so that they can prevent
more problems within the
industry.
The leagues are pressuring the
US to join forces with them so
that regulatory systems can be
put into place for the online
casino industry. If they do not
work at regulating these
licensed online casinos, the
league says that they may
consider shutting the US out of
major international
competitions.
It is not just the leagues that
are calling for the regulation,
there are online casinos as well
that would like to see
regulations put in place so that
it is safer for both the
gamblers and the players. There
is a group that is responsible
for watching wagering among the
online sites and such as they
relate to the Olympics and the
World Cup. They recently hosted
a sports betting conference in
Switzerland to see what could be
done about the recent influx of
gambling.
It is so bad that the US may be
looking at not being able to
participate and/or organize any
kind of world event. Norbert
Teufelberger, CEO of Bwin says
that if countries don’t have
that “modern, regulated sports
betting regime” that they may
need to be left out of it.
