World Trade Organization to Rule

Barbuda and Antigua are both expecting to get a big award for damages from the WTO in the long time Internet gambling dispute with the United States. A lawyer for the nation says that they feel pretty confident about their case and that they feel like they have the upper hand in the case, the ruling is expected as early as Friday.

In 2005 the World Trade Organization found a US law that only allowed domestic companies to provide online horse racing discriminated against foreign companies. The lawsuit not only asks for monetary damages but it will also allow Antigua to suspend copyright protection on American movies, music and software so the products can be exported to other potential markets.
