May 4, 2009 Online Casino News:
Online Casino Issues
There are many concerns that the online
casino industry, as it becomes more
popular is actually doing more harm than
good. The good of course would come from
the fun that people have in
participating in it, and for the various
charities that some online casinos
affiliate themselves with. However, they
are concerned about a supposed increase
in underage online casino gambling that
they say cannot be contributed to
anything except the online casino
industry.
Online casinos are incredibly popular
with those that enjoy gambling, for they
know that there are more people doing
this than going to the live casinos
these days. It is a way for those that
are interested in gambling to be able to
participate without losing their shirts.
They can play at the online casinos
without having to worry about how they
are going to pay for a hotel, car
rental, plane fairs, etc.
But with that ease comes a problem in
that there are too many online casinos
that do not have the proper checks and
balances in place and therefore are
unwittingly or not, allowing online
casino gambling to continue. They are
finding that one of the largest growing
sections of the online casino gambling
industry are those that are college age.
Many of them do not meet the 21 year old
cut off that the land based casinos
follow, but because they are not there
live to show an ID, they are allowed to
participate.
In Australia, they have begun developing
a real problem with underage gamblers.
They are not along though as the US,
South Africa, New South Wales, etc. –
have all started reporting an increase
in that age group participating in
online casino gambling. A recent report
says that there has been a drop in the
amount of online casino gambling from
that age group, but others beg to
differ.
