May 22, 2009 Online Casino News:
Bodog is Happy to be Back
The online casino industry has a bit of
a reputation for being a party animal.
They seem to be having all of this fun,
and debauchery seems to abound – but
there was one who stood out from the
rest as the worst of the worst when it
came to having a good time and that was
the online casino Bodog. They were the
ones who had bars in their booths, more
parties than you can count, and Calvin
Ayre the biggest party animal of them
all.
However, things change and Ayre retired,
and the economy went downhill, and the
US government was prosecuting in the
name of the UIGEA and the online casino
industry became the red headed stepchild
instead of the cool kid on the block.
But many of the online casinos didn’t
stop plugging away, and Bodog was one of
them. Ayre may not have been running
things, but they were still working hard
to keep your business, and they
maintained that reputation as not just a
place to go have a good time – but an
online casino with a solid reputation.
So now Alwyn Morris is heading things up
from Morris Mohawk Gaming, and as CEO he
is ready to take on the industry.
Strangely enough, Morris considers
himself a conservative family man, and
those that don’t know him well say that
he is very quiet and unassuming. But
this could not be further from the
truth. Morris has not gotten where he is
without rising to a challenge, and his
latest is prepping Bodog for the US
online casino community.
Morris says that the Bodog that will be
coming forward to the online casino
community will not be the same one that
they saw from Ayre. He says that he will
be taking a different approach, one not
quite as “flamboyant” as Ayre’s was –
but after talking to him you realize
that Morris is not quite as conservative
as one would think he is – he is just
gearing up for the wild ride ahead.
