July 11, 2009 Online Casino News: Online Casino Regulator Rules
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission has released the new details concerning their online casino gambling licenses that they will be giving out. The commission says that they felt that the online casino industry had changed and that their current rules for giving out licenses was not in tune with today’s industry.
Their new online casino licensing framework will now be split into two separate entities – B2C and B2B. The online casino with the relationship with their players will be the first one and the company that is the online casino platform alone is the second one. This way they say that they will have a clearer picture of the industry when regulating it.
The AGCC will now be able to tailor their online casino licenses for each company instead of a “one size fits all” approach. They said that they did some research regarding the online casino industry and realize where they were lacking in their rules and regulations as they pertained to the various casinos. They said that they saw where they had been left behind, so to speak, in the industry’s way of licensing.
They felt that where a lot of Europe had gone with their online casino licensing that they needed something similar. They say that they felt that the licensing was changing in a way that was moving forward and away from where they had been and so they needed to move forward as well. They also felt like there was no place for the new media companies that were mixing into the online casino industry.
