July 10, 2009 Online Casino News: Online Casino Community Gears Up
There are many within the online casino community that are less than happy that nothing has been done to make them legal yet. There are those that think that President Obama should have made legalizing the industry top priority, while there are others that realize that because of the economy there really isn’t much that he could do about it right now.
But the online casino community, no matter what side you stand on, is deeply disappointed that they will have to wait until September, possibly longer, before they get any kind of traction on the bills that Rep. Barney Frank has proposed for the online casino community. With the economy in such a mess the bills have been postponed until something more is accomplished on that front. This has angered and saddened many in the online casino industry as they were hoping that there would be a decision made by now.
There are several petitions that have started through the online casino industry to have the process sped up. There are those that think that if they gain enough signatures that the government will change their mind and the bill will be ruled on, but experts say that no matter how many signatures they get the online casino bill will not take precedence over the economy problems.
They can make their voices heard, but without any real change going on as it pertains to the economy they are stuck without a venue to have that hearing. The online casino industry sees it as one issue – for they feel that the online casino community can help the economy. They say that the billions that will come in from legalization are enough to help the economy out and should be looked at as simply two parts to a whole.
