Harrah’s is a well known name in the gambling and casino business and they have been for years. The casino conglomerate has locations all over the world, and they have long been successful at bringing people in and showing them a good time. This is the benefit of having such a well recognized name and having great customer service.
But now the casino is looking to expand their horizons into the online casino world, and many in the industry are not so happy about it. They know that them having an online casino that is so well known will undoubtedly draw traffic to their site – and it will be a tough competition for them.
Some still remember MGM’s attempts at getting into the online casino industry and how it did not go so well for them, but many think that Harrah’s has a much stronger name and ideal associated with it, which is why it will be easier for them to move into the industry. They have already hired some of the best people in the business to start working on a model and to get it up and running, and it seems as though they are off to a strong start.
Harrah’s also has one other thing going for it that MGM did not – they own the rights to the World Series of Poker, and if that doesn’t bring people in nothing will. Owning those rights means that they are going to be able to offer exclusive online casino coverage that the other online casinos will not be able to. This gives them an immediate draw – even though they probably won’t need it. The buzz surrounding their foray into online casino territory is already very positive and people cannot wait for them to get it up and running.
