Online Casino News:
Is New
Jersey Getting in the Online Casino
Business?

There has been talk across the nation
of the various states that have been
looking into legalizing online casino
gambling within their borders. The
passage of the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act or UIGEA made
online gambling payment processing
illegal but only across state lines. It
allows for those states that wish to
offer an intrastate online casino
gambling option to do so. Nevada and
California have both been considering
their options, and now you are seeing
even more states looking into it as
well.
They are aware that there are millions
if not billions of dollars to be made
from the online casino gambling
industry, and they want to be sure to
get their piece of the pie. They are
also aware that they are in a prime
position to get their online casinos up
and running before the UIGEA is
overturned – thus enabling them to get a
clear foothold in the industry before it
is legalized.
New Jersey is simply the latest state to
consider having their own online
casinos. New Jersey State Senator Ramond
Lezniak has already introduced a bill to
legalize online casinos in the state. He
wants New Jersey residents to have the
option of gambling at an online casino
that would be linked to those casinos
that are located in Atlantic City. Only
those casinos that were licensed through
the city would be able to offer an
online casino option.
He thinks that this is what the state
needs to jump start their gambling
industry. With so many other states
offering gambling now it has become
stiff competition for them, and they
have seen the drop in their revenues
because of it. They think that this
would be the perfect way to bring
gambling to those residents who might
not otherwise be able to get over to
Atlantic City to participate.
