They Could Teach Us a Thing or Two

Antigua and Barbuda have long led the United States in the online casino industry. Even before the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or UIGEA, was passed, Antigua was already putting various regulations and stipulations into play. Now they are light years ahead of us.

By continuing to work on regulation of the online casino industry in their country, they have put into place rules and restrictions that other countries may not have even thought about yet. Other countries are also enabling the online casino industry to thrive while we have done everything in our power to sop it. This hasn’t done anything but keep us in the dark in as far as technology – and hasn’t done anything to curb online casino gambling as people are still participating.

Antigua, on the other hand has made online casino gambling into a major source of income for their country. They have put strict regulations into play that make it safe for the players and cause the online casinos to follow a set of rules that will not be bent for anyone. They have also done this while still allowing the online casinos to be legal in their country and not putting the onus on the country to keep people from playing. They know that if people are responsible enough they won’t get themselves into trouble.

As if it weren’t bad enough to stop the people of the US from participating at the online casinos, by shutting them out they have hurt Antigua and their economy. They continue to fight the US through the World Trade Organization, and they expect to win.
