E*Trade Letting in Terrorists?

One of the main reasons, supposedly, that the US government gave for making online casino gambling illegal was that they wanted to keep terrorists from making money off of them. They said that terrorists use the online casino industry to launder their money, and that is why they had to be illegal. However, in as far as we know, no actual terrorists have been caught using online casinos to launder their money, thus making us skeptical of their claims.

However, now they say that they have proof. They say that while they have been trying to protect US residents from terrorism, they have been unsuccessful and they have continued to use online casino and gambling sites to this purpose. They have now fined E*Trade saying that they are allowing money laundering to go on, and that they do not have the proper screening tools in place.

They have now been fined twice on separate occasions, for not properly screening. They have allegedly been allowing money laundering to go on and are being asked to increase security. For their part, E*Trade says that they do have those screenings in place. They say that they have upgraded their system to monitor for just that, and that they have been doing this for over a year.

If online casinos were made legal, similar regulations would be put into place as they have been done for E*Trade. These regulations would keep online casinos from allowing money laundering as they would all have the same software in place.
