Online Casinos Alive and Well in US
The government can say what they want,
and other countries can lay claim to it,
but the fact of the matter is that the
online casino industry is still around
because of United States’ customers. The
majority of the money taken in to the
average online casino that allows US
players is from the US.
The government keeps saying that the
passage of the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act is the best
thing they could have done because it
seriously curtailed online casino
gambling, and kept people from being
taken by these sites. However, more US
players than ever are logging onto
online casino sites.
According to PriceWaterhouseCoopers,
they did a study back in 2007 that said
that the online casino industry was
going to make up to $17.6 billon if it
was regulated. This study came a year
after the UIGEA was passed, and it tells
you that no matter what anyone says,
online casino gambling is alive and well
in the US.
This is why so many representatives
would like to see online casino gambling
legalized for they say that now, more
than ever, the country could use the
additional funds. The study tells that
the US is the driving force behind the
online casino industry, and that is not
really going to change. With Obama in
office, online casinos say that their
numbers are actually up, probably
because most feel he will overturn the
UIGEA. However, as that has not happened
yet, online casino gamblers would be
smart to take great care.
