Online Casino News: Super

It was definitely the year to take a
chance on an underdog! The New Orleans
Saints won their first Super Bowl
Championship in the history of the
franchise – and the majority of people
thought that it couldn’t be done. The
Indianapolis Colts, led by superstar
Payton Manning, were the odds on
favorite to win.
Many in the online casino industry took
the bets on the Super Bowl, and with so
many people expecting the hands down
favorite Colts to win – it seemed like a
sure deal. Those that chose to bet on
the Saint’s made a very nice profit
indeed. This sporting event enabled the
online casino to literally take in
millions of dollars in bets – surpassing
almost everything that has been seen in
the past.
The land based sports books and the
casinos saw quite a bit of action, but
not nearly as much as was seen at the
online casinos. The online casinos
reported record numbers of new players
and new signs ups each day. Not only
that but there were more bets placed,
higher bets placed, and a wider variety
of bets placed at the online casinos
than ever before.
This year the online casinos saw a 14%
increase in the number of wagers that
operators took him, and the only other
Super Bowl that did better than this
year was the 2006 game which brought in
almost $100 million. This online casino
industry just got a huge financial boost
from the one source that probably
begrudges it the most. Land based
casinos also got a boost from it – but
not nearly as much as the online casino
industry did.
