The Kahnawake Gaming Commission is a regulatory body located just south of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec. There are many online casinos hosted through the KGC and they are easily one of the largest providers out there for internet and online casino gambling sites. So you can imagine their surprise when Loto Quebec announced that they would be launching their own online casino website without the assistance of the KGC.
Most people within the country seemed to view the new online casino as a positive, but the KGC is aware of what it actually means for them. They released a statement from the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake saying that it has been implied that they are going to be negatively impacted by the move. Because of the comments – it would appear that they are under attack from this group – as it would appear that comments that Raymond Bachand has made that he is politically biased against them.
KGC is wondering why the online casino decided not to host with them, using their Mohawk Internet Technologies. The commission says that they feel that their government has failed to realize how good this could have been for all of them. They said that there could have been very positive moves coming out of a partnership between the online casino and the KGC and they don’t understand why they would not have taken that opportunity.
They also think that by starting an online casino now, that they are only hurting themselves. They said that they will be competing with established online casinos like Party Gaming, Ruby Fortune and Grand Play.
