Online Casino News:
Kahnawake Licensees Being Tested
by Joanne R Sunday, February 7, 2010 at
11:17 PM
The Kahnawakee Gaming Commission has
asked eCOGRA to help them test the
compliance of the online casinos that
they license. They say that they want to
make sure that any online casino that is
licensed through them is following the
rules and regulations of the industry,
and that they want to ensure that they
are meeting the international standards
of “fairness, player protection,
operational conduct, and responsible
gaming. “
They have launched a compliancy program
to monitor and evaluate all of the fifty
five online casinos that they license.
They are fully aware that they are
meeting the standards that have been set
forth by the Mohawk jurisdiction of
Montreal, Canada, but want to ensure
that they are compliant in other
locations as well. They have asked
eCOGRA to assist them in ensuring that
they are meeting the necessary
standards.
The Gaming Commission said that they
were pleased that most of their online
casinos were already meeting those
compliance levels and that those that
may not be were already taking steps to
change their standards so that they were
more compliant as well. They said that
by bringing in eCOGRA as an approved
agent they are sure that those that are
not ready yet will be so shortly.
They said that this appointment is the
first step that they have taken, and
that they are ensuring that all the
information that they get from the
various online casinos is kept
confidential – so no one has to worry
about their information getting out
there. As eCOGRA makes its findings they
will make their reports known to the
Gaming Commission who will talk to those
individual online casinos about what
they need to do in order to become
compliant with the international
regulations.
