Online Casino News:
Haiti
Gets Help From Online Casinos
by Joanne R Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 9:31 PM
The little country of Haiti is getting
help from all kinds of strange sources,
although they are not complaining at
all. They have seen their world rocked
and destroyed by the earthquake that hit
them, and were unable to build
themselves back up without help. This is
a small country and a very poor nation,
so any help they can get they are more
than happy to take.
The online casino industry is not immune
to the charms or the problems of this
little nation. They have banded together
to see what they can do in order to help
this struggling country not only take
care of their most basic of needs right
now, but also get them back up and
running – better than before. They have
watched as help has literally come from
all over the world – and now it can be
seen in the international community of
online casino gambling.
Millionaire Casino is one of those
online casinos that is trying to help –
they have donated and raised money for
repairs and medical supplies and are
donating to the Red Cross Relief Fund.
Their VIP rewards fund users have
donated their VIP points in order to
help those in Haiti. Calvin Ayre of
Bodog fame has also stepped forward and
has asked everyone in the online casino
community to help out. He has said that
anyone that donates to his charity he
will match their donation up to $1
million.
Not to be outdone, CasinoMeister has
also stepped forward to help although
they are having a bit of a payment
issue. They had raised $20,000 before
PayPal shut them down as they said that
they had not registered as an official
charity. The online casino said that the
approval takes weeks and as this was an
emergency situation they thought that
they might be able to bypass it to get
some assistance to the Haitians – but
PayPal refused.
