February 15, 2009 Online Casino News:
Online Casino Migration
It has become more than apparent to the
online casino industry that they are
picking up clients from all over. They
are in the easy position of picking up
gamblers right, left and center from
those places where they don’t
necessarily want to go. The gambling
industry had long said that they would
not be overly troubled by the economy as
they said that people will always
gamble. But although it is true that
they will gamble, they won’t necessarily
do it at their casinos.
To save themselves time and money,
people are simply gambling at the online
casinos. The online casino industry has
seen a marked improvement in their
revenue since the economy worsened.
People simply take the money that they
were going to spend on their gambling
vacations and take it to the online
casino instead. This way they can choose
to blow it all there, or they can save
some for later – either way they have
more wiggle room than they do if they
have to pay for food and lodging as
well.
But with all the complaining from the
land casinos, it is only recently that
the cruise ship industry has started
hollering as well. They used to be the
perfect way for someone to spend their
day gambling, but now people don’t have
the excess money to pay for their trip
on board the ship in addition to having
money to play with.
In Florida the cruise ships are
petitioning the state government to give
them a little leeway. They are trying to
get it so that they can offer gambling
while the ship is at port. This would
give them an added edge and more revenue
to bring in as well.
