February 20, 2009 Online Casino News:
Moving to Microgaming
With Microgaming announcing that they
would be stopping all United States’
customers from gambling at their online
casinos, many thought that they might be
making a foolish move. They said that
they did not want to go against the
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement
Act, or UIGEA, and therefore would
remove their online casinos from the
market. This lead many players to get
very upset with the online casino
software company, and some online
casinos such as Doyle Brunson said that
they would have to leave them and moved
to the Cake Poker network instead.
But with all of the online casinos
leaving, there are some that like the
fact that they are not part of the US
market, and therefore are signing up
with them in part because of that.
Ladbrokes is one of them, having
announced last week that they would be
moving to the Microgaming platform.
They said that the online casino will
basically stay the same but that they
would be enhancing it so that their
clients would enjoy it more than they
did before. They said that there were
things that needed to be changed to make
it a more enjoyable gaming experience,
but that the “heart and soul” of the
online casino would remain the same.
They say that although the look of the
online casino might be changing
somewhat, the “unrivalled security,
reliability and trust” that their
players have come to love about them
would not be changing. They said that
players will not be disappointed with
the decision.
