February 20, 2009 Online Casino News: Is
Japan Allowing Online Casinos?
There are some things that you can count
on no matter what – there will be a
Super Bowl each year, there will be snow
in winter in Vermont, and there will not
be gambling in Japan. However, now it
seems that one of those guarantees is
not set in stone after all.
It has always been known that there are
no online casinos or gambling in Japan.
They allow horse racing and the state
lottery, but no online casinos
whatsoever. Now, the people of Japan
might want to be able to visit the
online casino industry, but it is
forbidden.
But now that might be changing if recent
reports have any truth in them at all,
for it seems that Japan just might be
changing their minds about the online
casino ruling. There has been a lot of
turmoil in the country as more of their
residents have asked to be allowed to
participate in online casino gambling,
but up until now there was no sign that
they would consider budging.
Now not only are they considering
allowing online casinos to flourish,
they are considering allowing live
casinos as well. They say that they
could possibly bring in controlled and
heavily regulated online casinos and
live casinos as soon as the year 2010.
This means that there is the possibility
of billions more being pumped into the
online casino industry. With Japan being
Asia’s richest nation, the online casino
market could see a large boost in the
amount of money that they are currently
bringing in.
