Online Casino News: As Reid’s Numbers Go Down, Hope Goes Up
by Joanne R Thursday, December 12, 2009 at 10:36 PM
Online casino players are hoping that what they are seeing might become a trend. Senator Harry Reid has been a long standing opponent to making online casinos legal, and has become quite the thorn in the side of the online casino industry. If he were to be gone, they would all sleep a little easier.
Well it would appear that they might get their wish if things keep going the way they are. Reid has seen his approval rating continue to drop, and it would seem that Nevada residents are more than a little tired of him. Reid has been pushing hard against the bills that would make online casino gambling legal in the country again, and has resisted all efforts to make it regulated and taxed.
However, one would think that this would make the casino owners in Nevada happy as many of them would think that by eliminating online casino gambling people will start flocking back to the land based casinos. He has long represented their interests on the online casino topic, so why is he not getting the approval rating that one would think that he would be getting by now?
It would appear that the tide is turning. Harrah’s Entertainment which is easily one of the largest and strongest gaming companies in the world is moving into the online casino gambling arena. They have announced plans to bring an online casino to the market, and perhaps this is part of the reason why he is not doing so well in the polls right now. Perhaps the industry is seeing the tide turn, and they realize that online casino gambling is not quite the enemy any more.
