Online Casino News: Facebook Bans All Online Casino Ads
by Joanne R Thursday, December 31, 2009  at 4:15 PM

Facebook really is the new way to talk and keep track of what your friends are doing. For those people who find it difficult to keep up with all of their friends, you can spend very little time posting a status and everyone knows what you have been up to. It is also a great place to play games, or find out information you didn’t know before. Along the side of the page there are various ads for things that you can click on and honestly, most of them look like junk.

But what seems like junk to us is a very lucrative business for the advertisers. For most of these ads, they get money for every person who clicks on it. But Facebook has recently decided to start cracking down on the kinds of ads that it will allow and online casino gambling is not one of them. The social network says that they are removing all online casino gambling advertisements from their site effective immediately.

Their advertising guidelines say that “Gambling, including without limitation, any online casino, sports books, bingo, or poker without authorization from Facebook” are banned from the site. They have other things that are banned as well, but some were wondering why they would choose to ban online casino ads. They say that they can not support something that is illegal in the United States.

Many say that there is also the fact that they don’t want to be seen supporting something that could lead to trouble for their members. They know that if you have an online casino gambling addiction and you click on one of their ads, you shouldn’t have to worry about triggers.
