Know when to Hold’em

UIGEA is misguided says American comedian Drew Carey has defended the popular pastime in a video Blog that is called ‘Texas Close ‘em’ in which he calls the UIGEA misguided. In the video he takes aim at the US government for its raid earlier this year at the VFW in Dallas, he says that poker is as American as apple pie, that it was born in America and even Mark Twain loved it.

The raid is a part of a broader plan to shut down online poker even in low stakes games benefiting charity, Carey went on to elicit from the veterans that all proceeds from the weekly poker game went to maintain the VFW hall or other charities, that hall is now closed due to lack of funds.
