Interruption Call Out

Pardon the Interruption is a popular
ESPN show. Its hosts Tony Kornheiser and
Michael Wilbon are the reason people
watch the no holds barred kind of show.
They talk about sports but they do it in
an honest and forthright way that fans
love. This time around they have taken
on the National Football League and
their problem with online casinos.
The duo have nicknamed the NFL the “No
Fun League” and the name has stuck with
many of their followers. They say that
the NFL has a compulsive control
disorder which has led them to stick
their nose into the online casino
industry where it does not belong.
They say that they are so concerned with
controlling and regimenting their
players, their employees and their fans
that they have lost sight of what they
are supposed to be doing – watching
football. They say that their obsession
with keeping online casino gambling
illegal is unhealthy and really has
nothing to do with them.
They did not mention the fact that the
NFL is currently trying to block all
online casino gambling, not just the
stuff that pertains to them, but they
did say that they have issues when it
comes to the internet and online casinos
that offer sports betting. They have
even made it illegal for players to
Twitter while in the middle of a game.
They say that it is distracting and
compromising the game. Unless a player
is actually tweeting while on the field
the NFL is way off base. Wilbon says
that their obsession is ruining the
sport – and even said that the NFL is
trying “to tell players which nights
they can have sex with their wives.”
While funny, hopefully the NFL will wake
up and see that they are far outreaching
their jurisdiction on this one.
