Online Casino News:
Antigua Trying to Get in Good
Graces?

It can only be seen two ways – one the
country really likes President Barack
Obama that much or they are brown
nosing. Either way Antigua has taken a
big step to try and get in good graces
with the United States by naming their
tallest mountain Mount Obama. They say
that they have done this in honor of the
President.
They said that they want to show good
faith with the country of the US and
that their residents hope that by naming
their tallest mountain after the
President that it will “signal a change”
between the two countries as it pertains
to online casino gambling within their
country.
Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer renamed
the mountain on the President’s birthday
as a sign of respect for the man. The
inscription on the mountain says "Mount
Obama, named in honor of the historical
election on Nov. 4, 2008, of Barack
Hussein Obama, the first black president
of the United States of America, as a
symbol of excellence, triumph, hope and
dignity for all people."
The tiny country of Antigua has been
trying to get their online casinos legal
in the US for some time now and had to
take their case to the World Trade
Organization who ruled in their favor.
They have been very patient with the US
and with the past administration in
getting their online casinos legalized
again. However, nothing has happened so
far on that front.
The country is obviously hoping that by
bestowing such a big honor in the
President’s name that they will see some
activity on the online casino front.
They are losing billions of dollars
while the UIGEA is in effect and need
the US to act quickly to help them out.
We will have to wait and see if Obama
can be shamed enough into acting or if
Antigua should start looking for another
public figure to name their mountain.
