FBI Says It’s Illegal – But Is It?

The Federal Bureau of Investigations takes a very hard stance on the online casino industry. As far as they are concerned, online gambling is illegal – no matter what the circumstances.

But is online gambling illegal? Can you play at the online casinos without fear of retribution? That is the question that plagues most of those that want to gamble at an online casino.

Depending on where you live, you could be participating in online casino gambling, without having to worry – but in some states it is illegal. If you live in a state where gambling is illegal no matter what kind – then you can not visit an online casino as you would be breaking the law.

However, if you live in a state that allows gambling, then your options are much wider. Some states are looking to have what would be called Intra-state online casinos – where you could gamble online, but you have to stay within the confines of the state.

California is looking to make online casino gambling legal, as is Nevada. Ohio has just approved online gambling for the lottery, and other states are looking into taking similar steps. As the Unlawful Internet Gambling and Enforcement Act made the processing of online casino payments illegal – you can play, but you could lose your bankroll to the Feds. As in anything, it is a gamble.
