Malta to be the new home for Major Online Casinos

Due mainly to the UK Gambling Act, many online casinos have begun rethinking location
and have their eyes on Malta as a new home. To date, more than 84 internet casino
companies have their businesses based here and many more are ready to make the move,
with at least 36 awaiting licenses.

Big gaming names like Virgin Games, Littlewoods, William Hill and Playboy Casino plan
to make their move in the coming weeks. Some online casino companies held out until
after the U.K. Gambling Act passed, but many, foreseeing the need to find a new
location, made the move weeks or months in advance of the in order to avoid any
complications.

Mario Galea, who is the Chief Executive of the Lotteries Gaming Authority is quoted as
saying to The Times Newspaper of Malta, "Malta's becoming the natural hub of online
gaming."

The restrictions of this act do not apply to such approved 'white list' areas like Alderney and gambling companies in EEA, and allow promotion of UK TV, radio and other media outlets.
