Harrah’s is Getting Ready
Harrah’s is on one of the oldest casino
brands out there. You would be hard
pressed to find someone who even if they
have never been there, had not heard of
the Harrah’s brand. Well, the company is
counting on that in order to move
forward with their online casino brand.
The casino is getting ready to create
and own an online casino. They say that
they are aware that the tide is turning
to the online casino industry being made
legal very shortly, and so they want to
ensure that they have gotten themselves
in a strong position within the industry
before that actually happens.
They have hired PartyGaming’s Mitch
Garber to help them begin the process of
developing online casino gaming
operations within the United States. The
Las Vegas based Harrah’s wants to have
themselves within the industry before it
becomes legal and they know that Garber
has the track record to help them do
just that. With the UIGEA not far from
being overturned they want to strike
while the iron is hot.
But with this move, the online casino
industry is both excited and worried.
They are excited that the big names in
the casino industry are starting to take
the online casino industry seriously,
and that they realize what a threat they
are to their bottom line. At the same
time, these lesser known online casinos
will also start seeing more of their
money going to more well known names if
these big casinos like Harrah’s, or
Bally’s, or Trump start opening their
own online casinos.
