April 28, 2009 Online Casino News:
Antigua Enhancing Compliance
Antigua and Barbuda are already known
for their online casino industry, and it
is no secret the problems that they have
had with the United States in reference
to the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act, or UIGEA. The thing is
though; they are not simply a nation
that embraces online casino gambling.
They are a nation that is dependant upon
the money that comes from it because it
makes up the majority of their gross
national income.
Because of this, they take extra steps
that many other countries do not take to
ensure the safety of those that
participate at their online casinos. In
fact, they are so concerned with the
safety and security of their players
that they are constantly looking for
ways of making it a better experience
for them while keeping their online
casinos a place of fun and excitement.
Now they have a new state of the art
program that will monitor their online
casino industry. It is for licensees and
is part of their online casino gaming
framework. The program is overseen by
the Directorate of Offshore Gaming,
which is a branch of the Financial
Services Regulatory Commission – or FSRC.
The new program will ensure that all
compliance regulations are followed and
will monitor the various online casinos
to make sure that it happens.
The criteria are mandated by the UK
Department of Culture, Media and Sport
and in implementing the new program, it
gave Antiguan eGaming licensees
preferential status that allowed them to
freely advertise their gaming services
in the UK – which is a big deal
considering how strict they are about
their advertising standards.
