Ultimate Bet just closed UBOC
Thursday, September 16th, 2010Poker players everywhere are jumping for joy over the many promotions that are going on today in the market. If you are a fan of poker, then no doubt you were aware of the promotion that went on at UltimateBet.com. It recently closed up its Ultimate Bet Online Championship or UBOC, which is a 12-day long event. The ending payout was a total of $4 million in cash rewards to lucky players. This is the fifth year the championship is being held, and it proved to be even bigger an event than ever. Like most online poker events, this one is growing fast. Expect next years to offer even more games and an even bigger payout to players. The event officially began on August 18th. There was a $1.050 buy-in, but there also were a number of satellite tournaments around to get qualified and bypass the buy-in amount. The main event was hosted by Phil Hellmuth, a huge name in the world of poker play. Hellmuth is a poker player who holds the record for wins at the WSOP with eleven bracelets. He won the 1989 WSOP title. Though he is known to be temperamental and “bratty” he still managed to make a huge name for himself in the world of poker and get into the Poker Hall of Fame.
This latest UBOC event brought in about 8,700 players who were duking it out for the win. They all played in a total of twenty different poker events hoping to take away their own payouts for the hard work and good strategizing skills at the game. There was an overall prize pool of just under $4 million for the tournament. This proved to be a great event for gamers and poker players and anyone who joined in on the fun can testify to how much fun a good tournament is these days. Gone are the days of a few bucks worth of a payout. In today’s market, a player who is good at poker can support him or herself with the spoils. Games have come that far in the market and are promising to offer even bigger payouts in years to come.
