Are Slots Getting Stale?- Part 1
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010It seems that an interesting thing is happening in the world of slots gaming. If you look at forums and blogs on slots gaming, the prevailing belief is that developers are not keeping up with the market. They are lagging in creating new games with newer features to keep slots players interested. This is an interesting assessment since for the longest time slots gaming has proven to not only be lucrative, but to bring in thousands of new gamers over any given month. In the past slots were a sure-fire way for gamers to enter the gambling market. The games are more varied in wager requirement than say, a poker table, so that means that they fit into more bankroll limits. Right there, that opens the door for more gamers to get in on the fun. But did it cause gaming companies to get lazy?
It seems that a lot of slots gamers who have been at it for a while think so. They think that there really isn’t a whole lot of new things in the market. Games in general are revamped with possibly new symbols and maybe an additional wild, but that is it. Other than there, games are stale. The thing about slots gaming is that once you get through the entire game, you can play it a few more times to see other options. In particular if it has a bonus game within the game, you can make different decisions and get different outcomes. The thing is that once you get to all the various options, there isn’t much else you can do with the game unless you want to just keep on playing. On the other hand, games like poker for example offer a wider range of potential outcomes. It has differences due to the other players’ decisions, the dealers cards, etc. That makes for a differing gaming exeperience every time you join in on a poker game or tounrnament. The same goes for any card game where people are involved. They vary up the overall gaming experience and add something new to it every time you play.
Part two coming next.
