Understanding the Pay Table in Slots Gaming
Friday, September 24th, 2010If you are new to the world of slot gaming then it would do well to take a few minutes to learn a little. First of all the games are games of luck. This means that there isn’t a strategy you can employ to better your chances of a win or increase the likelihood of a good reel combination. There is a RNG, random number generator, within the machine and it dictates everything. You just sit back and have fun by spinning the reels and hoping that Lady Luck is with you along your journey. Your first question may be, “What exactly is a payline?” If you have been playing slots for a few games then you undoubtedly will come in contact with the “payline” issue. Games for novices have one payline and not a lot to worry about but in today’s growing market it is becoming more popular for games to have multiple paylines. The payline of course is a line of symbols. If you make combinations on these lines you win. The one concern is that you often times have to activate the paylines. For example, you may be playing on a slots game with twenty paylines, but if you don’t wager on all of them, you aren’t activating them. You may only be activating one payline. Obviously the more paylines you activate, the move chances you give yourself to win but it is going to cost you! Some of the more advanced games these days have fifty and up to one-hundred paylines to enjoy.
Another important aspect of slots gaming is the payout table. The pay table is going to give you all pertinent information on winning. You want to at minimum skim the payout table so you know exactly what you need to do to get a good win. Normally payouts start when the needed symbols come up three times or more on the activated paylines. There is a left-to-right rule in slots and it means that symbols have to appear on consecutive reels beginning with the left-most one, called reel 1. The good news though is that most slots games these days do all the work for you. You won’t have to keep track of anything or remember things. The machine does it all automatically. You just need to make sure you do a little reading of the payouts, but then stand back and have fun spinning the reels.
