Poland is another country working with gambling laws. The country was recently in the news for its overwhelming problems with political scandals and gambling. There was a scandal concerning bribery and money laundering the country was under recently. Now that things have been supposedly remedies and those in question have been removed from office, the country is still trying to come up with a workable gaming law. Prime Minister Donald Tusk has traditionally been very conservative with his stance on gambling and is calling for some strict regulatory changes to the market. He already made the move to remove slots games from cafes, clubs, shops, arcades and service stations around the country. The reason that slots were targeted was because a recent study showed that slots may be some of the most addictive games on the market. Plus, their smaller wager requirements may be the very thing that gets gamers in trouble. For example, a gamer knows when they are wagering $50 per deal at a blackjack table. However, if they are wagering at a modest nickel-slot they may not be as keenly aware of how much money they are investing to play and losing at the games. This is why they are considered to be “dangerous” to those who may have an addiction or be prone to gambling addiction.
The addictive nature of slots is what Poland’s legislators are targeting. They are trying to regulate the market by cutting back on land based gambling that may affect their citizens negatively. In the future the country is going to have to look at a viable gambling plan. Though gambling is sure to bring in millions of dollars, there are other concerns that legislators are worried about. Will the increase in gambling automatically increase the numbers of gambling addicts? Will it cause underage people to want to wager? Will it detrimentally affect the market? These are all questions that legislators are posing right now. They have a gambling plan, but are not yet sure that it will continue to be effective as they work with gaming in the market. Only time will tell what changes need to be made and which ones will be truly affective for the market.

There are still more countries debating the value of online gambling. Now it is Finland that is scrutinizing its own laws regarding the activity. It is coming as little surprise to experts though. Finland has traditionally been very conservative with its gambling and online gaming laws. This is another country whose legislators are not totally swayed by the millions of dollars available. This was a major bargaining chip of gambling companies. They promised legislations millions of tax revenue dollars in exchange for the opportunity to operate and market within their countries. It worked for some countries; but others are still holding out. Though they acknowledge the millions of dollars available, they still believe that there is more to the issue other than just the money. They believe that gambling in general will bring an inevitable rise in crime and corruption. That will call for added man-power in terms of police and task forces. The need could all but usurp any profits had by the gambling activities.
Finland officials are still maintaining that playing games online is legal, however it can only be done via the state-regulated company RAY. This is a monopoly the country has over the gambling industry. RAY is in an exclusive deal with Playtech gaming company for its software protocols and this is what is keeping it up to date in terms of great games and online activities for gamers. Though the company is at the forefront, RAY is still limited in what it offers its gamers. The country has a goal of providing games, but on a safe platform for its residents. The games are regulated by officials of RAY who seek approval from legislators directly when it comes to vetoing or integrating new games into its online portal. Right now the games are widespread though. You can go to RAY and find games in over one-hundred-and-fifty varieties. You won’t soon get bored with the games RAY has to offer. Still, legislators are questioning whether or not they want to continue with the market. They know that games are a popular pastime with people and don’t want to miss out on the huge revenues available. They also want to protect residents and keep them from using companies that aren’t as reliable.

The world of gambling has changed over the years. It began years ago and that shows due to the amount of popularity gambling took on early in history. In the US the laws are up in the air. Though states are free to regulate on their own, many are taking their cues from the federal level of judgment. Gambling has a dual nature to it when it comes to arguing its characteristics. On one side, legislators want gambling legalized because they believe that would bring in millions of dollars every month. They also believe that it would protect gamers from illegal gambling companies. On the other hand, there are those who believe that gambling should not be legalized. They believe that bringing it in the states would open the door for more problems that could take away from that revenue brought in. For example, if addictions rise as a result of legalized gambling then the states would have to create funds to increase gambling addiction centers and resources. Both sides have good arguments and it seems that it all rests on a good regulatory law. This is what legislators are trying to put together.
That regulation is what Barney Frank is pushing for. He has taken the helm at bringing in gambling and different regulations. His main goal is to turn around the UIGEA of 2006. This was a bill that banned financial institutions from taking transactions related to gambling. The result though was not that people stopped wagering—rather they started wagering at offshore companies. This fueled millions of dollars out of the country and that money is not recoverable. It is one of those things that is costing the US market billions over the years and is continuing to cost them. On the roster for gambling initiatives is to come up with the proper regulation for gamers to take advantage of. If you continue to watch gambling in the states, expect more changes to come about that regulate gambling better for the area. The country wants to take advantage of the millions of tax revenue dollars available, but that is not going to come without a lot of regulatory measures.

Canada is another one of those countries that is working its way through the world of online gambling. Various provinces as of late have been pushing for changes in the world of internet gambling. They are trying to work out ways that allow them to capitalize on the huge growth market. If you recall a few months ago one of the provinces moved in on gambling but had a setback. After just a few hours of operations, a security breach caused the website to have to be shut down. It seemed that hackers were able to get in on the secure website and wreak havoc on the business. This is just one of the problems that Canada has had when it comes to implementing online gambling. the country is pushing for some law, but so far things have been sketchy. There are still lotteries to rely on, but online gambling is back to the drawing board for legislators.
The question of legalizing gambling throughout the country is up for debate still. Some provinces are opting to push ahead and find some type of gambling law, while others are backing off the issue altogether. It seems odd that they are so open to the pastime. Millions of Canadians are calling for some type of legalized gambling. they are doing same thing US players did though when gambling was not open to them. They are playing at offshore companies that allow them to wager. This is something that countries need to learn—if people want to wager, they will do it. Whether that means staying in a legalized system or moving out of their country where gambling is allowed. The underlying problem though is that it causes millions of dollars to be channeled out of a country’s economy and into someone else’s. This is a difficult problem—especially now when gambling companies are offering a huge revenue stream for countries willing to write the proper legal code to implement and support it. Only time will tell if more provinces are willing to move on gambling, but until then, residents are left to seek out offshore companies for their gaming needs.

If you have ever been concerned with the reliability of gaming then you are not alone. Though they are uncommon now, there were instances in the past where casinos entered the market. They were fraudulent and ended up hurting gamers. Whether it was identity theft or stealing their money, these casino operators were swift to get in, steal and then get out of the market. It was much more common when the internet first began. Once things took off, there were equally as many regulators entering the market to police these companies. That was great news for gamers because now they can sit back and enjoy gaming. Sure there are some safeguards to take into account, but in general gaming isn’t as dangerous as it was in the past. One of the biggest issues with gambling is a mechanism within the machines called the RNG, or random number generator. In past years the RNG was an issue because people were able to tamper with it. In today’s world though, it is vastly different. Now the RNG is generated by a complex algorithm that picks numbers. Gaming regulators have their eyes on the RNGs and are consistently making sure that they are operating the right way.
Another element of the market that is making gaming fair is the third-part regulators whose job it is to keep on pushing for better gambling. ECOGRA is one of these companies. It is a company that strives for fairness in the gambling industry and does a thorough investigation of markets to make sure that they are operating properly. If you see a casino with the eCOGRA certification on it, you can rest assured that the company has gone through a complete investigation of all its practices. It takes a lot to get certified by the group and if you see a casino with their logo, it most likely is a reliable casino. It always helps to take pains to make sure that gaming companies are transparent and honest. Though the market has gotten much better over the years, there are still some companies that may be operated by thieves. Take your time to make sure a casino’s regulation practices are up to code so you can have a great time gaming without issues.

The world of online gambling is growing quickly but not in the US. The states are not leading the market at all and it seems that the UK is setting the standard to which other online gambling industries are being weighed. If you want to see how a good online gambling model is created, all you need to do is study the UK gambling market. New studies are showing that it is so good that it is taking over in online activity in the UK with residents. In fact, it is even more popular than Facebook. A new study done by Nielsen Group showed that 3.2 million people were added to the already bloated online gambling industry this past year. That means it saw a 40% increase in activity since last year. Experts aren’t exactly floored by the growth though. They knew full well that the UK was hot on the heels of creating an online gambling initiative that would work well with the residents. It is great news for the country because of the huge revenue dollars it brings to them. Plus it also is steadily creating new jobs for people in the areas where casinos are being developed online. They need programmers and other office workers to support the huge growth of that market.
Other research done by Nielsen revealed that online poker and bingo are the main draws to the world of gambling. Women make up about 46% of gambling, which leaves about a 50/50 split between men and women who are logging in online to wager. No one was shocked at the study, but it does dictate where gaming companies are going to push in the future. They are going to continue to focus on the huge growth of poker online gambling in the market. And they also are going to keep on developing bingo. More and more companies are jumping on the bingo band wagon—they now know how lucrative the game can be. Expect the UK market to continue to grow and other markets to quickly follow. They are going to want to compete now that they know how much money is involved and that an adequate regulation can be achieved.

South Africa has been in debates over gambling and so far wants nothing to do with it. Namely it is online gambling that the country is denying. Right now the country is putting hefty bans not only on gambling, but also on advertisements and promotions online for gambling. The Department of Trade and Industry is stepping in to make rules different now that gambling is so popular with residents. The organization is varying the National Gambling Act to control advertisers. They don’t want pro-gambling activists to have the air time to promote gaming, even in nighttime hours when traditionally laws are much more lax. This latest move by Africa is the same move the UK has taken on in recent months. They too are restricting gambling promotion via television, radio, billboards and print advertising. Many gaming companies are fighting because they are valid customers of these outlets and want their advertising to get the same priorities as any other advertiser would. Unfortunately, gambling comes along with too much controversy for things to be that simple.
The situation in the UK and South Africa is problematic, but so is the rest of the world. It was back in 2006 when the UIGEA came into play that the US also tried to ban advertisers for gambling companies. In fact, they were initially planning on turning internet gambling into a criminal act that could be prosecuted as a felony. This did not work, and most likely neither will the ban on advertisers. The money gambling companies have to advertise is big business. Television stations, radio stations, magazines and newspapers are not going to want to consistently turn down the millions of dollars available. They know that a good advertising budget for a gambling company can be huge compared to a car rental company, for example, or even an airline. Overall gambling is big business and comes with huge price tags for everyone involved. That means that most likely everyone involved is going to fight hard to protect their part of the gambling pie. They want the benefits of the cash involved. And in today’s economy, turning down a few hundred-thousand dollars in advertising money is not what companies are looking to have to do for very long.

Since the beginning of the recession there have been debates on gambling and whether or not its legalization is truly a good idea. Now that states are playing with laws, they are seeing some problems to deal with. Florida is a state that took its chances and now is has to pay the price for it. The state just had to carry out raids on illegal gambling activities. In addition, raids have taken place in North Carolina and Texas. It seems that the rise in illegal gambling is pushing the activity to the forefront. Now another state is having problems too. It seems that Georgia is the latest state to have to crack down on illegal gaming. The state has to raid eight illegal locations for gaming. It was in Harris and Muskogee counties that saw the raids in gas stations and pool alleys. The METRO Narcotics Task Force was there to carry out the deed. They had received various complaints from residents who saw the machines being played at the above locations. People said when they went to shop, they saw other patrons partaking in the illegal activities and cashing out from their wins. In Georgia players can wager, but games can’t be paid out in cash. Some states allow for prizes that are not monetary but awarding direct cash is not legal.
The sheriff of Harris County said that the police force was trying to send a clear message that these operations would not be tolerated and that they would be shut down immediately upon discovery. The reasoning is that legislators do not want these illegal casinos to push in on legal operations and steal their revenues. The market is already thin but with a number of illegal operations in the market, that could spell disaster for casinos that already have the proper licensing and protocols to by all means operate in the states. In the future Georgia will continue to push for heftier regulators and more in depth investigations to keep illegal gambling out of the mix. The most common locations for illegal gambling operations are poll halls, internet cafes, convenience stores and gas stations so far. These are the locations the Task Force is targeting for investigation.

The world of gambling is up in the air in the US. As you know for a long time the UIGEA has been the ruling bill when it comes to online gambling. It bans financial institutions from managing any transactions that involve online gambling. Of course people are finding their ways around that- they move to offshore gambling companies, but that hardly solves the problemf for the US. In fact, it actually creates a lot of problems because millions of dollars are being channeled out of the country and fueled into other economies. It may sound like a small part of the US market but when you consider that gambling is a billion-dollar market, it has a huge affect in actuality.
The interesting thing about online gambling is that for the most part in past years it has been somewhat underground in the market. It has been an issue that has yet to take on the mainstream market. Gaming companies and specific legislators who focus on the cause are the only ones coming to its defense. They understand how much is at stake and are pushing to make it a widerspread issue. Not it seems that their wishes are coming true. Due to the huge number of legislations that are looking to change rules, finally the issue is getting its own front page coverage. People hoped it would because of the money being lost by the states for every month that there is no online gambling legalization. Overall gambling is a $4 billion business and it is expected to add another $3 billion to that amount in coming years. The US needs to come up with some way of capitalizing on that market and it seems that legalization is what is going to turn things around. It is going to be the key to turning the market around. Since the recession the US economy has still not leveled off to what it was in previous years. That is going to mean a serious change is needed. The most viable option is legalizing and regulating online gambling. It is coming- legislators are now seemingly more focused on finding solutions than ever.

The US state of gambling is changing quickly. Back in 2006 legislators brought in the UIGEA, or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. The hope was that the legislation would ban online gambling via banning financial institutions from handling gambling related transactions. Banks were tasked with the responsibility of seeking out, flagging and denying any transactions that were related to online gambling. The plan didn’t work well. Banks were scared of the possibility of being fined so they swept every activity that even mildly resembled online gambling into the realm of illegal activity and denied it—even activities that by all accounts should have been treated as legal.
In addition to banks being too staunch in the rulings, online gamblers also fought the UIGEA. Because they were unable to gamble via US-based casino websites they moved their gaming to offshore companies. Of course, this meant that they also took millions of dollars with them and moved them out of the country. In 2009, Congressman Barney Frank noted what a huge failure the UIGEA was and noted that despite it illegalizing gambling, it never even defined what the term “gambling” would include. His goal was to focus on rewriting laws that would allow gambling to enter the country legally and be regulated by the US. Over the following months he worked hard to come up with the proper legislation and rules that would allow gaming into the country and allow the country to benefit from the millions of tax-revenue dollars that are at stake.
Many other legislators are moving in on the issue. They see the benefit of online gambling’s legalization and understand that there are millions of dollars at stake. If laws can legalize and regulate the activities, then the US can take advantage of the huge dollars and try to recover from their own deficits as a result of the recession of 2008-2009. Only time will tell just how far the laws are pushed and how much of a benefit they will be over the long hall. It may take years to know fully how much of a benefit the games are to the economy, but legislators are sure that this is a good move to shore up suffering state coffers.
