Are you a table game player? Like Poker, but aren’t sure about Pai Gow Poker? Well it is not has hard as it may sound and certainly a lot easier then it was in days long gone. Playing Pai Gow Poker is a fantastic way to enjoy your visit at the casino, as you really need not worry too much about your card playing skills. You can make your experience playing Pai Gow simple as in the game you are allowed to ask the dealer to set you hand for you, or you can expand your horizons and max your experience playing Pai Gow Poker. Here are some easy tips to follow, and before you know it, you may be one of the lucky winners at Pai Gow Poker.

Since Pai Gow Poker tends to be a game that develops rather slowly, it is a game that is ideal for collecting comps. As you know casinos rate players according to how much they wager as well as hold long they sit at a table. With Pai Gow you can be very well sitting at the table for an extended amount of time with a reasonable bank roll which can add up to some nice casino rewards. Playing Pai Gow online is a great way to earn bonuses. A great tip to keep in mind when playing Pai Gow is that you can ask the dealer for help, as it is welcomed. Players should take as much advantage of this as possible. Perhaps you may want to set your own hand while making sure you are setting it in an effective way; after you set the hand you can then ask the dealer to make any corrections if any are needed. This is definitely a perk to a game that you don’t see with many other casino games. There are other advantages to Pai Gow Poker which brings us to another tip. If you happen to have the opportunity to be the band in your Pai Gow game and have the money to bank all of the bets, do it. Being the banker drastically lowers the house edge against you. The most important tip, before you sit down to play and bet your bank roll, learn how to play, even though it is not as complicated as it once was, it is neither as easy as sitting at a slot machine and pushing a button.

One variation of poker is the game of Pai Gow. It is a popular version and offers hours of gaming fun for any poker lover. Pai Gow is a favorite at casinos both off and online, and once learned how to play can be quite exciting to say the least. No one really knows how old the game is, but it has been said to be at least a couple of hundred years old which makes it ancient. The roots of Pai Gow stem in China where back in the days was played with dominoes instead of the playing cards used today. Besides Keno, Pai Gow is China’s biggest contribution to the casino industry to date.

The old version of the game where the dominos were used, was done with the domino tiles separated into two groups, one group symbolized the military and other civilian units. The dealer then rolls the dice and that decided which tiles were going to what player. As you can possible figure out, Pai Gow was quite complicated. Moving ahead to modern time, Pai Gow goes from dominoes to cards. However, it isn’t as simple as that. Pai Gow took on several forms in different parts of the world. In was in the late 20th century that the game was mated with Poker and then became Pai Gow. Many people will say that the game is new, but with the roots going back hundreds of years, it is far from something new. Fred Wolf introduced Pai Gow Poker sometime during the 1980’s, also known as double handed poker, in the state of California. Instantly the game became a hit, and it wasn’t long after that the fame was introduced to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Today the popularity of Pai Gow is off the charts, and is available in casinos all across the world. Players can even found the game in many online casinos. The inclusion of Pai Gow is also in the world of big-name tournaments. You can find this version of gaming in big name tournaments everywhere, so if you are a fan you won’t have problems finding games that you love.

Part two coming next.

Two More Types of Poker to Enjoy

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Millions of people love poker. It’s a fact that poker is growing in popularity throughout the world. Just look at the huge growth in the WSOP’s popularity over the years. It’s a huge ESPN-broadcast tournament now that hands out millions of dollars to lucky players. If you like poker, here are three additional types to look into:

Pai Gow Poker-This version has some similarities to Western Poker but requires extreme patience.  Due to the length of the game a small amount of bankroll can last a long time while playing.  Players are dealt 7 cards to play against the dealer.  From these you must make a 5-card hand and a 2-card hand.  Your 5-card hand must rank higher than your 2-card hand.  Ranking is the same as Western Poker with the exception that the 2-card hand can only be a high card or pair at best; Straights and Flushes do not count. Once your two hands have been decided the cards are compared against those of the dealers.  Tied hands go to the dealer.  A player who beats both dealer hands wins equal money; this may be reduced by 5% due to how long it takes to play.  If a player wins on only one hand they are pushed.  A player who loses on both hands looses their bet.

Let It Ride-Also referred to as Let ‘Em Ride this game is played by betting on drawing a good hand.  Each player must place an ante bet with three dealt cards.  Two community cards are drawn face down.  Players are paid on hands that are a pair of 10’s or higher.  Prior to turning the community cards over players can place an additional bet equal to the ante. Players are paid based on the strength of their hand in Let It Ride.  Payouts tables vary, but generally a pair of 10’s or higher pairs equal money with a Royal Flush.

Regardless of what type of poker you decide to try, you’ll have hours of fun. The good news is that there are tons of great websites that offer poker and specials for any player to enjoy. Whether you are a seasoned player or a novice, you’ll find some premiere websites to hone your skill.
