Paddy Power Moves to iPhone Gaming

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

The hot new thing in the market is mobile gaming. There was a time when cell phones were used for one thing- making phone calls. There was no such thing as checking email or getting to the internet on your cell phone. All it did was let you communicate with others. Those days are long gone. Technology has brought the market of cell phones far. Developers created smart phones like the iPhone and the Blackberry for online browsing. Not only can you retrieve emails and web pages, but you also can do anything on your phone you would do at your laptop or desktop. It’s a great way to stay connected and keep up with business when you are on the go. Due to the overwhelming response for smart phones, now gaming companies are moving into building more and more games for the cell phones.

Paddy Power of course is Ireland’s biggest gambling group and has had huge amount of success in the market. Their latest move is to join in the smart phone world by introducing a mobile application through the iTune’s (Apple) store. This gives Paddy Power the title of the “third company to venture into mobile gaming.” If you get the application you are going to be able to play the downloadable version of the website’s games on your iPhone. Think about it- if you are in the UK or Ireland then you can play a great game on your cell phone. The iPhone has many uses and now more and more gaming companies are capitalizing on its capabilities. If you love to game at all times, then mobile gaming could be the perfect thing for you. See what you can do at Paddy Power’s new mobiel app. Not only is the app a good one, but you can rest assured that Paddy Power itself is one of the top casino websites in the Ireland area. That means it most likely has the expertise and know-how to bring the best games to the mobile market. Test out the games on your iPhone and see how much fun you can now have thanks to Paddy Power and its surge into the new market of mobile gaming.

PaddyPower is Running a Great Promotion

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Again one of the best things about online gaming is the vast number of specials and promotions that are available. Land-based casinos have to worry about huge overheads. They have to concern themselves with month bills like utilities, maintenance, dealers, cocktailers and managers. The huge overheads take a big chunk of any revenues they bring in. That means less money can go to promotions and specials. It’s like a vicious circle for a lot of gamers– they want to go to the best land-based casinos for promotions, but the best promotions aren’t coming. The recession was difficult for many industries and gambling was one of them that took a hard hit. The hardest part was that the entire gambling industry is built on discretionary spending. With the recession forcing people to cut back on all discretionary spending, fewer and fewer customers ventured to land-based casinos. Now, things are first turning around slowly. Many virtual casino operators are hoping for a quicker turnaround. They want to build up specials and promotions that will once again spur visitors into coming to a casino and wagering online.

If you visit PaddyPower, there is a great promotion to enjoy. This weekend coming up, the casino is offering a £250 bonus. It’s set to honor artist Michelangelo’s 535th birthday. Throughout this promotion, if you deposit up to £250 using the promotional code “ppmickey”, you will get a 100% match bonus. You can use the bonus at any time you are playing the games at Paddy Power casino. You also can try your luck at winning an additional £250 in cash. The casino is offering it to the best work of art- and that includes a drawing, painting or poen. The casino operators will pick the best one and that’s the big winner for this promotion. In addition, you can get a signup bonus of £150 deposit match bonus. Just for signing up you can get the promotion. Check out Paddy Power’s online casino and you should find tons of specials and bonuses to keep you happy. In addition, the casino has a long list of games to enjoy so you won’t be bored at this casino.

Tiger Woods Offered a Deal with Paddy Power

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Tiger Woods has had a lot of coverage lately over his marital issues. A slew of women came forward claiming an affair with the professional golfer. One by one, they managed to bring his reputation down a notch. Formerly, the golfer was thought to have the perfect wholesome life—beautiful wife and two children. It was a carefully crafted persona that soon fell apart as one woman after another came forward to sully his reputation. Of course the rumors weren’t a lie—it was proven that he did have many affairs and lived a double life of philandering. Despite the problems he has brought for himself, there are still businesses who would love to have the pro golfer’s name attached to their product.

Internet casino operator Paddy Power has offered troubled golf great Tiger Woods $75 million to sign on as its spokesman and use his name for promotional purposes. Woods’ representatives say he is not interested. Several of Tiger’s long-time sponsors have deserted him in the wake of revelations of numerous sexual affairs behind the back of the golfer’s wife, Elin Woods. A spokesman for the Irish online bookmaker told Golfweek that Paddy Power had begun negotiations with International Management Group, Tiger’s agents. He said talks had just started, but that Paddy Power is thrilled at the prospect of attaching the star power of Woods to the gambling brand.

“At this stage, when other sponsors seem to be ditching him, there’s an opportunity there to step in,” stated the rep. “But if it all comes off, it’ll be the biggest sponsorship deal we’ve done by quite some way.” The deal would give Tiger an upfront payment of $5 million, and then continued payments based on tournaments entered and results of play. However, Mark Steinberg of IMG denied negotiations were ongoing.

“We’re not involved in any discussions to add to his sponsorship portfolio at this time,” asserted Steinberg.

PGA officials also rushed forward to end any thought of pursuing the sponsorship, pointing out that the association’s policy forbids players from any association with Internet casinos or other gambling ventures.

Tiger has been dropped by numerous sponsors since Thanksgiving, including Gatorade this week.
