Mobile Betting Now Available
Thursday, October 14th, 2010One of the biggest trends in the market is to move to mobile gaming. With the rise in smart phones, it is evident that people no longer just use their cell phones for communication. Now people use them for a wider variety of options than just talking. First it was texting. Texting is a great way to get one or two words out there quickly. Anyone wanting to get a message out without taking the time to make a phone call can use texting easily. Once texting took off, then people started wanting more options on their cell phones. Development companies answered. Smart phones are cell phones, but with much more diversity. Smart phones can browse full webpages, send email, receive email, make payments….anything you can do online with your desktop or laptop is now possible to do on a smart phone.
American Wagering, Inc. is a company that holds a great market share of the sports betting industry. Now the company announced that it is moving into the world of mobile betting with a special app developed just for Blackberries. Blackberries of course are top of the line smart phones, that probably defined the new cell phone market most before iPhones came into the picture. This new application is going to allow gamblers to place their wagers just like they would at their computers. The only catch is that right now the app is solely for people in Nevada. This is a good sign though- if it is available for Nevada due to legalities, that should change soon. When it does the app can be expanded easily to include every state that allows sports betting. The company is promising that this move is going to make gaming that much more exciting. Now players can wager on the go and check scores from their phones in one convenient location. The company also announced that though the application right now is compatible with the Blackberry, it is only a matter of months before they release applications for other platforms like the entire Apple suite of iProducts that are growing so popular in the market today.
