Anyone who has been following the growth rate of Macau knows how well the area is performing in terms of gambling. It wasn’t that long ago when the city was a small sector of the People’s Republic of China. It is comprised of the Macau Peninsula and then two other islands of Coloane and Taipa. The area started off as a separate island, but geography changed that due to a sandbar and time. Now it is a peninsula where gambling is one of the primary markets. The other advantage Macau has is its climate. Normally the seasons are warm—with July as the warmest month at 84° average and the coldest season being January when temperatures are down to 59° on average. This not only makes it a great place for gambling, but for vacation spots with a warm climate. It can’t be beat for its weather, gambling and exotic locale. This is being proven due to the numbers it is bringing in. Right now the peninsula is considered the top locale in the world for gambling—leaving places like Las Vegas and Atlantic City in its wake. These two cities of course have suffered great losses since the recent recession and are showing slow signs of revival.
Much of its market is based on tourism and a good portion of that is because of its gambling. Visitors can enjoy the many casinos and entertainment night life that is there. a good indication of what the small area can do was seen this past November. The city noted an impressive profit margin throughout that time. It has revenue of about $2.2 billion, which is an increase of over 40% from what it was last year. This is a huge number and is showing no signs of slowing down. So far this past November was the most lucrative month it has had, with the previous month being the only competition in terms of numbers. Right now marketing analysts in Las Vegas and Atlantic City are watching Macau closely. They are getting direct competition – and losing—to the small cities involved. Macau is obviously doing something right in terms of building a business and a successful gambling market.

For a long time the gambling market has been suffering as a result of the recession—hopefully things are turning around though. Nascent signs of a turnaround are showing and they are proving to be great news for the gaming public so far. This year there has been a turnaround in gambling in Las Vegas. It started off slow though—gaming companies were prepared for the worst of times to visit them during these times. It wasn’t without warrant either. Gamers just were not visiting companies with their funds. For a long time gamblers were hard pressed to pay their bills, much less pay other bills. Now things are turning around though and that is great news for all involved. Las Vegas recently reported numbers and noted that it brought in $168 million. That is good news for the city because of the hefty deficits and shortfalls in budgeting that it has been experiencing in past years. Since the recession the city has had a hard time with recovery and hasn’t rallied as of yet. This could be a beginning sign though that it is ready for some changes to come about.
Remember that Las Vegas is a premiere gambling center in the US. The problem though is that it has left some of that prowess behind since the recession. No longer is it a singled out leader in the market, but rather it has had difficulties pushing forward to hold the title of top gambling center in the world. Countries like Macau and Gibraltar have pushed Las Vegas off it number one slot. It’s no secret that since the recession, Las Vegas has been down and is showing small signs of turning things around, but nothing monumental. Though the city brought in $168 million, the Singapore Marina Bay Sands for example brought in $241.1 million in revenue. It excelled beyond the estimate on what it would potentially do and over-performed. It’s comparisons like this that are causing experts to question whether or not Las Vegas can rally and regain its position as a number one gambling spot in the market. Or, will it take a backseat to newer cities that are making their own marks on the industry?

If you have heard of the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao most likely it was in reference to oneof two things: its overwhelming beauty as a Caribbean get a way, or as a gambling center for gaming companies. Those two don’t necessarily go hand in hand, but Curacao is making it work. The small island is one of the most beautiful locations to visit. Their tourism market is on a high because of the beauty and natural appeal it has. Much of the market is built on tourism, so resorts and hotels put millions of dollars into building up their businesses for tourist attractions. The other part of their market though is their online casino operator appeal. Curacao is one of the first jurisdictions to regulate online gaming for real money. It all began back in 1993 when the island officials decided to take a chance at regulated gambling. It was a huge task and many thought the small island had no business delving into the gambling business, thinking it was more of a “big country” pursuit. In the years since, Curacao has proven all naysayers wrong.
When gambling companies are looking to set up shop, one of the first places they consider is Curacao. The island offers some of the most reasoanble fees in the world. No longer do gaming companies have to submit to enourmouse taxation or licensing committments that larger countries insist on. With islands like Curacau around, they can bypass the huge-pay countries and settle quite nicely into small ones. The best thing about setting up shop in Curacau is that the country has been at it for years now and worked out all the pre-start up bugs, so to speak. It knows what the laws should be, knows how to enforce them and has a highly affordable setup structure to top it all off. No one can beat small countries when it comes to reasonably priced regulation. Curacau is a leader when it comes to the art of licensing gambling casinos and is showing no signs of slowing down. Many gambling companies are looking to start up on the small island or to transfer their busineses to it. As large countries elevate their fees, Curacau continues to squash all the competition.

It is no secret that all parts of the world are moving in on gambling. Gambling is a $3 billion business and that number is expected to more than double in the coming years. In the end gambling is the biggest market right now and most legislators are pushing for gambling to be legalized and regulated in their jurisdictions. The US is pushing hard for gambling regulations because they know of past offences. With the UIGEA of 2006 the US lost billions of gambling dollars. Residents of the US did not stop gambling as the US had hoped. Instead they moved to offshore gambling companies and channeled millions out of the country as a result. Unfortunately this is money that the US will never recover. Not that states aren’t rallying and doing their best to turn things around. They are all hoping that their new gambling initiatives prove to be as lucrative as hoped. Since the recession, gambling has become the most viable option for turning things around financially. With huge deficits and budgetary shortfalls it is hard to find options for overcoming them. Gambling seems to be the most realistic. The US has a problem though: Macau.
Macau is a gambling Mecca and that is not an exaggeration. The country is one of those countries that has taken the world by storm. In fact, recently they saw an increase in gambling revenue that was 40%…and that was for just one month. This is a startling amount of revenue and translates as $1.9 billion! Macau is quickly taking over as the gambling center of the world and places like Atlantic City and Las Vegas no longer have a shot at reclaiming the title. Both locations have suffered greatly since the recession and are still having problems rallying. Macau on the other hand is indicative of how much gambling has taken off in the Asian countries and taking full advantage of the money they are privy to now. Casinos are being built that outshine anything that Las Vegas or Atlantic City have put together. The small island is a leader in the market and showing no signs of slowing down as gambling changes. Expect Macau to take on an even bigger role in growth over the next few years.

The casino market is up in the air right now. Gambling is being prioritized by legislators everywhere. Legislators know full well that the market is billions of dollars in value. That means that even a small market share can mean millions in revenue. How do you solidify that revenue? It seems that the way is to continue to build games and promotions that draw in customers. Simple enough but some markets are proving better at it than others. Macau is one location that is quickly taking over the market. The area is even replacing Las Vegas and Atlantic City in terms of biggest gambling centers in the market. No one these days can compete with Macau. Everyone is having problems because the Macau market seems to be exploding so readily and taking over the entire market.
The interesting thing about Macau is that a few short years ago the market was no where near as advanced as it is now. It was a smaller market but growing. Then it took off. In september the casinos in macau experienced a huge increase in revenue of about 40%. That meant that an additional $1.9 billion was fueled into the Asian economy. That is huge for gambling revenue. Overall this year has proven to be a lucrative one for the market. It also has built itself up to 60% growth since this time last year. No one could have predicted it would take over the market the way it has. It is a sign of good things to come for the gambling market. Overall Macau is on the verge of explosion and is showing no signs of slowing down. So far no market can even come close to the overwhelming growth it has gone through as of late. While Macau is celebrating its growth, other markets are struggling and wondering what they can do to reinvigorate their own markets. Las Vegas is a huge contender in the market that is slowly and surely losing ground every day. The area is no longer in high demand and taking a back seat to other areas for gambling throughout the world.

It’s no secret that MGM Resorts International has wanted to move in on the global market. The company’s executives know full well how quickly the market is growing and they know that there are many changes coming about. Gambling is a billion-dollar business and that means that every country should be ready to implement their own gambling plan. Most legislators are pushing for some gambling law and some way to move into the market in a big way. MGM Resorts is established and huge in the market. The company has the billions needed to come up with a strategy that would allow them to move in. Right now the company has made a move to improve its notoriety in the world. It just filed the proper paperwork to be offered on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The goal is to get the listing because if the company does then MGM China Holdings would have control of MGM Grand Macau.
Macau of course is a country that is pushing forward with gambling initiatives left and right. The country has created a huge name for itself in the world of gambling in the past few months. In fact, it has taken the market by storm. While Las Vegas and Atlantic City used to be the central gambling hubs of the world, now Macau is replacing both locations as the number one gambling spot. If you love gambling, then Macau could be the perfect place for you. It has built a huge amount of casinos in its relatively small area on the map. If the move to list on the Stock Exchange goes through it could mean a new wave of success for an already huge market. MGM Resorts International would be one of three companies listed on the stock exchange. The others are Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Wynn Resorts. It is not uncommon for gaming companies to seek listings with the SEC. It considerably increases their worth in the market and opens up a whole door of success for them. Only time will tell whether or not the company gets the approval, but if they do, then it will be a great day for the MGM Resorts International.

Talk about a gambling victory! Though a lot of areas are suffering financially in the market, Macau is not one of them. In past years Las Vegas and Macau were going head to head when it came to winning the title of “best gaming center in the world.” They both had a huge selection of casinos and offers, along with entertainment and specials to enjoy. So what happened? Suddenly things started changing and Macau started showing marked progress over its competitor. Macau started growing in popularity and has now taken a notable number-one position against the casinos in Las Vegas. Right now Macau is not only reveling in the win, but analysts are studying its overwhelming growth too. Macquire Securities is a company that recently studied the area and is saying now that Macau should be experiencing a 40% growth in revenue since this same time last year. The pending revenue for Macau for the year should top just under $2 billion.
The numbers for Macau are phenomenal and analysts are stating that it soon should be a market contender with no competition. That is a huge statement for gambling when the numbers are so huge right now. Casino owners in Macau know full well how much of an advantage they have right now. The casinos are premiere, the entertainment centers are top-notch and the overall bonuses for customers are creating a benefit that few other locations can match. As long as the numbers continue to rise, casino owners in Macau are going to keep on focusing on building an already strong brand. They know how much they have to offer the market and they know how strong a showing it has already made. If casino gamblers are able to find the best deals in the Macau area then they are going to continue moving to the market for their gaming needs. Macau casinos are showing no signs of slowing down. Now that the casinos are so well on their way to taking over the market, they are going to continue to fuel revenue into promotions and bonuses to benefit gamers. Expect an even greater showing for he Macau market in coming months.

It was back at the end of 2007 when MGM originally expanded to the Macau market. Macau of course since that time has become a gambling hub that is giving Las Vegas and Atlantic City a run for their money. The MGM was the first to open in the small Chinese city and it was a project that tapped more than $1.25 billion to construct. In the end, it was able to overcome the total revenue brought in by Las Vegas. In the past three years the casino has been able to continue growing exponentially in the market—not just the Chinese market, but the worldwide market of gambling as a whole.
The city of Macau since that time has continued to grow. More and more casinos have been built in the city and they have quickly garnered a huge market. the casinos are premiere in the industry and offer an island full of decadence and gambling fun. If you ever wanted to visit an exotic location for gaming, then Macau could be the perfect place. Not only does it offer great gaming, but it is building itself up into a great get-a-way locale. More and more casinos there are building packages for visitors who want an outstanding far-away vacation. Their tourism numbers are only gaining positively and showing no signs of slowing down. Casino operators know how popular a location they have and they are also building promotions that offer great deals. If you have a few weeks of vacation, you will find that a Macau vacation is going to offer you a wide range of activities. It’s a lot like Las Vegas, only bigger and more full of gaming fun. The casinos there are all full service and take their huge revenue streams to fuel right back into their facilities. The country is now taking over as a leader in the world of gambling, pushing Las Vegas and Atlantic City aside. In a lot of ways, Macau is becoming the biggest gambling center in the world and most likely there will be no viable contenders to take that title away any time soon.

All signs are showing that gambling is working its way into the mainstream market. There was a time when gambling was considered to be an underground activity. It was an activity carried out by mobsters, high-rollers and Hollywood celebrities. In today’s world though, it has slowly become one of the most respected and coveted activities in the market today. Look at Macau for example—it is a small 11 square mile island of beaches. At one time it was an island paradise of beauty and luxury, but not much more. If you visited you most likely would spend time sitting on a beach, walking the white sands and basking in the sun. Now, things are vastly different in the Macau market.
If you go to Macau you are going to find a gambling hub of the world. There are twenty-six casinos on the small island and the overall atmosphere of the area is that of a gambling Mecca. There are also 4,000 slots games on the island that are always busy. People from all over the world come to the casinos to play the slots games due to their overwhelming variety of style, theme and wager. There are also over 800 gaming tables to have gambling fun at. Whatever game you are looking for, you are going to find it in Macau. Over the years it has developed into the gambling super-center that you see today. This is just one example of how gambling has turned a market around and helped to push gambling into the mainstream.
Another example is the WSOP. It used to be an underground activity that people did in the privacy of their basements or on a Friday night at home. Now, you can find gambling in any casino you visit, not to mention the great amount of online gambling fun you can have. Even the WSOP itself has grown. Now it is televised live to the entire world. It pays out in the millions and it has big name corporate sponsorship. These are just two examples of places where gambling has taken the market by storm. If you like to wager, then this is a great time to get in on the fun. You can play at a land-based casino or have just as much fun in the privacy of your own home via your computer.
