Jersey Shore Makes its Way into Gambling World
Tuesday, July 13th, 2010Jersey Shore is a phenomenon. There is no debating that the guidos and guidettes of the show are gaining popularity throughout their MTV show. The characters live together in a house and the show chronicles their outings into the nightlife and how much trouble they get into. It is all about “G.T.L”, or gym, tan and laundry for these guys. Though they have had some opposition from the Italian culture, overall Jersey Shore is holding its own with the ratings. In fact, it is one of the highest rated shows on television today—in particular on cable TV. MTV heralded the show and its main characters as instrumental in bringing more viewers in than had visited it in a long time prior.
The most interesting thing about gambling is how it is quickly absorbing pop culture. If you see a show rise in popularity, most likely there
are casino developers who are looking to capitalize on the popularity. If you go into a casino, you are going to find a wide range of games that cater to a wide range of preferences. If you are a fan of the NFL or horses, or fashion or money, you are going to find a game that features that. This is a trick developers have long used—find out what people like and then create games they like. It’s part of the reason why games are so popular and why developers watch pop culture closely.
This is why it was just a matter of time before Jersey Shore made its way to the gambling arena. It took some time, but it caught on. Expect every pop culture phenomenon to turn into a game. Operators want to reach as many customers as possible and this is a great way to do it. Finding new ways that speak to customers and attract their attention is a great way to build gambling businesses. The future is no doubt going to bring more and more games that circle popular TV shows. Expect to have a great time with gaming and see your favorite characters all translated onto the gambling screen.
