Land-Based Casinos Starting to Struggle

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

A few short years ago there was nothing line venturing out to a land-based casino for gambling fun. You pulled up, read the specials and then played until your bankroll was gone. Things are changing now that technology has taken over. It seems that more and more players are moving to the online world for their gaming. Part of the problem is expenses. The land-based casinos are expensive compared to playing at an online casino. Most of the land-based casinos do not have enough tables games to accomodate all of the players, and they often try to push players over to the video slot machines with the worst player odds. The betting minimums are much higher in a land-based casino than at an online casino. This can easily put the player at a disadvantage when they play a table game and have a relatively small bankroll. These are just some of the disadvantages of land-based gaming. The problem is that the future most likely will hold more of the same– online casinos are able to run at a much lower overhead and that gives them an immediate advantagfe when it comes to creating affordable gaming options for online players. Land-based casinos have to meet a certain revenue to just cover their huge expenses and what ever is left over is portioned towards bonuses and promotions.

Land-casinos have been experiencing an increase in attempted robberies due to the stress and desperation of people during the global financial crisis. The comfort level in most land-based casinos is dropping due to the increase in rude patrons and unfriendly dealers. By playing casino games online, you can experience the same thrill of gambling at a casino without all of the negative issues that often arise at land-based casinos. You can relax in the comfort of your own home where their is no casino dress code, no expensive drinks, and you can play any of the casino games at your own desired pace. It is so much safer to play casino games over the Internet. The online casinos have gone out of their way to offer a safe gaming experience. They have to if they are going to continue to take the casino market by storm.

Party Gaming Projects a Lucrative 2010

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Party Gaming is an online gambling company that is popular throughout the world of virtual gaming. It’s best known for its online poker room called PartyPoker.com. The company is based in Gibraltar and is on the London Stock Exchange. Currently the website offers PartyPoker.com, PartyCasino.com, PartyBets.com, PartyBingo.com, PartyGammon.com and PartyMarkets.com. It is a huge company that offers a wide range of games to the public. For anyone who wants outstanding gaming, it’s a great place to start in the online world.

The company had some good news recently. So far preliminary reports show that Party Gaming may perform better than what was previously expected. The group will release its official financial report in February but experts and insiders are speculating that the company will do better than expected.  The preliminary reports also showed that the company is planning an expansion into Italy and France in the coming year. Jim Ryan, CEO of Party Gaming, said, “Returning poker to growth has been a key focus for us. We are pleased to see that the initiatives introduced throughout the year are now feeding through into both operational and financial performance with increased player numbers and average net daily revenues versus the previous quarter, despite continued competition from illegal US-facing sites and the difficult macroeconomic climate.”

The good news comes at a good time for the company. The recession hampered many companies and changed the face of business altogether. The unemployment rate’s plummet was the main contributor to the economic downturn because it hampered people’s ability to spend. Everyone cut back—regardless of socioeconomic status and that’s what made the recession so unique. When people began cutting back, businesses suffered one by one. Now, jobs are being created, but slowly. It is taking a while for everything to turn around and experts are saying that true signs of economic recovery may not be seen until mid-2010.

Party Gaming is in a prime position for growth though and that’s great news for operators. They are taking the time in the near future to focus on building the brand and developing new products for the gaming public. Hopefully the company will continue on its successful growth rate and become an even bigger entity in the world of online gambling.
