The US Market is Considered to be Biggest
Thursday, November 4th, 2010The US is sitting on a gold mine. Or, that is what legislators from other countries believe. It has long been believed that the US is the gambling hotspot right now which is interesting because online gambling isn’t even legalized yet. The fact though is that the US holds a huge market. There are millions of US residents who wager consistently on lien and want to keep their gambling activities alive. Sure there was the UIGEA, but it did little to hamper gamblers from finding places to wager at. Though US legislators thought the bill would stop gambling altogether, in the end all it did was push gamblers to using offshore companies for their gambling needs. And offshore companies were more than willing to take their business. They benefited with millions of dollars for the business and created US friendly websites. The US so far has grown a huge market for online gambling. Think about it—what can beat playing online? You can wager on whatever games you want from the privacy of your own home! No waiting in lines, struggling with crowds, driving or setting aside vacation time needed—instead you can just log in from a computer and wager to your heart’s content.
This is why US gambling is considered to be the number one coveted market by gambling companies. They know how lucrative it is and they know how it is growing consistently. If there are changes in the market of US gaming, online gambling companies want to be ready. They know that they stand to benefit with millions of dollars if they can corner the market. Even companies like Harrah’s Entertainment are already making waves—the company recently set up its own online casino that operates outside of the US. Many experts speculate that this is so once the US legalizes gambling Harrah’s will be in a prime position to open their doors quickly, before other companies are able to set up shop. Everyone is waiting for gambling in the US and gaming companies are lined up like wolves waiting for fresh meat. It means that there will be even more gambling options for US players once the door for legalizing them is opened.
